Confirmed live prices for the Regular ticket on the trip's own dates were $54 adult / $32 child (Wed–Fri) and $59 / $35 (the Tuesday and Saturday closest to booking) — higher across the board than the $44/$26 weekday and $49/$29 weekend figures shown, which come from dates later in August once near-term dynamic pricing settles down. Same ticket, same day-of-week logic, but booking close to the date costs more regardless of weekday or weekend. Budget against the higher number for this trip specifically.
No under-5 category on any ticket; 4-and-under ride free (see below). Intro to Trail Riding lesson (2.5 hr, day pass included): Ages 13+ $85 · Ages 6–12 $65 — roughly $31–33 over a standalone day pass on the same date. Twilight is in-person purchase only, not bookable online, and Ikon/season-pass discounts do not apply to it.
2 free kid tickets (12 & under) per paying adult. Not a Bike Park product — this is the scenic gondola. Picked up at a ticket window.
Discovery's $39 and Twilight's figures were updated by David directly (2026-08-06) and haven't been independently re-verified to the dollar — Mammoth's own ticket pages don't expose a price without stepping through their date picker. The gondola's "2 free kids per adult" claim was independently corroborated. Pedal Pass and Season Pass numbers remain unverified by any primary source. Prices are dynamic — check the live page before buying if more than a day or two has passed since this was built.
Mammoth's own stated design intent — confirmed against the current map, Trailforks, and a forum thread from a family with matching-age kids. Reached by the Discovery Chair, a 2-minute-40-second lift lap, so laps stack up fast.
The base. Wide, smooth, wide turns — the two best beginner trails in the park.
Banked paver berms + small jumps, steeper grade than the greens. Short (0.3 mi, ~100 seconds), downhill-only, extremely high traffic — the default "second trail" for most riders.
Constructed features — work up from small drops to intermediate rainbow bridges.
Gravity-fed pump trail — teaches suspension technique and bike-handling at speed.
The "kid-friendly" reputation in circulation is about Adventure/Discovery specifically. Worth a test ride first — which is already the plan.
Main Lodge to the Village on continuous green singletrack. The signature ride of this whole trip.
Climb Uptown (900 ft, pedaled, not lift-served, ~30 min), descend Downtown.

🚫 Clearest no-go under the no-climbing rule
"Anything that has quite a bit of climbing is a no-go for my kids. It just kills their energy." Under this rule: Uptown's loop and Beach Cruiser are the clearest no-gos; Paper Route is a real but modest climb (268 ft) worth testing first. Downtown, Big Ring, and the whole Discovery Zone cluster have no meaningful pedaling climb — all lift or gravity assisted.
Mountain View (loose pumice, sandy climbs) · Panorama Dome (kid-suitability unverified) · Mammoth Rock Trail (technical, later-trip progression) · Lower Rock Creek (adult ride) · Sand Canyon / The Eliminator / Skid Marks (advanced). Shady Rest soft-surface trails closed 1 June–15 Aug (covers this whole trip); Inyo Craters Loop closed for hazard-tree work.
Bounded by real lift hours, not an invented whole-mountain loop. The upper Panorama Gondola closes 4:30 PM — barely 90 minutes into a 3 PM Twilight start — so staying near Main Lodge beats chasing the summit.
Skip the full Uptown climb for Twilight specifically — it alone eats 30+ minutes, a bad fit for a tight window with young kids.
